I am using Eriik's method but my avatar looks weird:

Let me explain, Eriik's method consists in using a ttf font instead of bitmaps which makes it more customizable without requiring so many unicodes.

Anyway, to solve this, it is simple, depending on where you are using it you must configure the following:

Vanilla: assets/minecraft/font/default.json

ItemsAdder: config.yml

Oraxen: font.yml

This solved the problem. Now you will see your avatar like this:
